Submission Guidelines and Manuscript Preparation

Introduction

The International Journal of Clinical Anesthesia and Research (IJCAR) encourages authors to follow the detailed submission and manuscript preparation instructions provided below. Submissions that adhere to these standards facilitate efficient peer review and publication. Manuscripts that deviate substantially may be returned for revision before review.

Submission Process Overview

1. Authors must submit manuscripts via the online submission portal or email to [email protected].
2. Each submission should include a cover letter, manuscript file, figures, and supplementary materials (if any).
3. Upon receipt, an acknowledgment email will be sent within 48 hours.
4. Manuscripts undergo initial editorial screening, plagiarism check, and then peer review.

File Requirements

Manuscript Organization

• Title Page: Title, authors’ names, institutional affiliations, ORCID IDs, and corresponding author’s email.
• Abstract: 250–300 words, structured into Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusion.
• Keywords: 4–6 keywords separated by commas.
• Introduction: Concisely explain study rationale and objectives.
• Methods: Include study design, ethics approval, statistical analysis, and instruments used.
• Results: Use tables and figures to highlight key findings.
• Discussion: Interpret findings with respect to existing literature.
• Conclusion: Summarize major implications and limitations.
• References: Numbered citations using the Vancouver (ICMJE) style.

Formatting and Style

Reference Style (Vancouver Format)

References must be numbered consecutively in the order of appearance and identified in text, tables, and legends by Arabic numerals in square brackets.

Figures and Tables

• Figures must be submitted as separate high-resolution files (≥300 dpi).
• Tables should be self-explanatory with concise titles and footnotes.
• Ensure all figures and tables are cited sequentially in the text.

Ethical Declarations

• Ethics Approval: Provide IRB approval number and institution name for studies involving humans or animals.
• Informed Consent: For human studies, confirm written consent was obtained.
• Conflict of Interest: Disclose all potential conflicts at the end of the manuscript.

Plagiarism Policy

All submissions undergo plagiarism detection using iThenticate. Manuscripts with significant similarity (>15%) may be returned or rejected.

Supplementary Materials

Authors may submit supplementary materials (e.g., datasets, videos, extended methods) for online-only publication. Each file must be clearly labeled and referenced within the manuscript.

After Submission

1. Authors will receive a confirmation email with manuscript ID.
2. Editorial office assigns reviewers within 5–7 days.
3. Peer review decisions are communicated within 3–4 weeks.
4. Accepted articles proceed to copyediting, proof review, and final publication.
