Commitment to Visibility and Preservation

The International Journal of Clinical Anesthesia and Research (IJCAR) is committed to ensuring the broadest possible visibility, accessibility, and long-term preservation of its published content. Through comprehensive indexing and archiving partnerships, IJCAR enhances the discoverability of scholarly research for clinicians, academicians, and institutions worldwide.

“We believe that scientific research should be universally discoverable, permanently preserved, and freely accessible to everyone.”

Indexing Services

Articles published in IJCAR are indexed and abstracted by leading bibliographic and citation databases to ensure maximum exposure and impact within the academic community. The following indexing services currently include or are in the process of indexing IJCAR publications:

Indexing Service Website Coverage
Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) doaj.org Under-evaluation
Google Scholar scholar.google.com All published IJCAR content
CrossRef crossref.org DOI assignment and citation linking
Zenodo zenodo.org Open repository for global archiving
ResearchGate researchgate.net Author sharing and academic networking
OpenAIRE openaire.eu European research integration

DOI Assignment

IJCAR assigns a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) to every article immediately upon publication through CrossRef. This unique identifier ensures persistent citation, linking, and reference tracking across databases, ensuring that each article remains findable even if the journal’s web address changes.

Archiving Policy

To safeguard the scholarly record, IJCAR has applied for partnership with global archiving initiatives such as LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) and CLOCKSS for distributed and permanent digital preservation.

  • LOCKSS: Libraries participating in the LOCKSS program ensure multiple copies of IJCAR content are safely preserved.
  • CLOCKSS: Provides a decentralized and secure preservation network, ensuring long-term access even in the event of catastrophic data loss.
  • PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN): As an OJS-compatible journal, IJCAR uses PKP PN for additional preservation redundancy.

Repository Policy

Authors are encouraged to deposit preprints, accepted manuscripts, and published articles in institutional or subject-based repositories. IJCAR fully supports OpenAIRE, PubMed Central, and other regional open access repositories.

Author Self-Archiving Rights

  • Authors may self-archive both preprint and postprint versions.
  • Articles must include a proper citation and DOI link to the final version.
  • No embargo period applies for self-archiving.

Metadata and Discovery

IJCAR articles are enriched with structured metadata (title, authors, abstract, ORCID, DOI, keywords) to improve discoverability through search engines and institutional library systems. The metadata format is compatible with OAI-PMH and other harvesting protocols.

Long-Term Preservation

The journal ensures that all content is digitally preserved in multiple formats (HTML, PDF, XML) to meet the interoperability requirements of modern academic archives. Backup systems are maintained to prevent data loss and ensure perpetual accessibility.

Indexing Updates

IJCAR continuously expands its indexing partnerships. The editorial office regularly applies for inclusion in additional global indexing databases such as PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science. Updates on new indexing approvals are posted under the journal’s “Announcements” section.
